UGI begins project to add natural gas service in Dupont

More Than 120 Homes Will Have Access to Clean, Economical Natural Gas

UGI held a ceremonial groundbreaking for a Growth Extension Tariff (GET Gas), expansion project on Thursday, September 14 in the Borough of Dupont, Luzerne County. The event was held at the Dupont VFW.

The Dupont GET Gas project will provide access to natural gas to 123 homes. The GET Gas pilot program is designed to provide natural gas to residential homes and small businesses that currently do not have access to service.  This project is part of a five-year, $75 million pilot program.

A second phase of the project, scheduled for next year, will provide access to natural gas for an additional 200 homes.

“UGI is very pleased to bring the GET Gas program to Dupont,” Robert Stoyko, UGI’s Vice President of Customer Relations, said.  “UGI is moving forward with construction on a number of GET Gas projects throughout our service area in an effort to bring this clean, plentiful, low-cost and locally produced energy resource to more residents and businesses in Pennsylvania.”
